Count the num ber of times you’ve faced dif fi cul ties and then count the num ber of times you achieved your target.
Count the number of times you’ve faced difficulties and then count the number of times you achieved your target.
You will realize that the difficulties that you faced can not be counted with just 5 fingers. It will most probably require both your hands as well as all your toes. But, how many of us deal with these dif ficulties and problems successfully?
Many of us have a tendency to stop at the sight of a road block than figureout how to maneuver around it. Many of us would rather say “I give up!” and walk away from our dreams. By being frightened by problems, how will we ever find the things that will make us happy? How would we ever know what kind of an impact we would’ve made on peo ple, society and maybe even the world?
When Thomas Alva Edison was interviewed by a young reporter who boldly asked him if he felt like a failure and if he thought he should just give up by now, a perplexed, Edison replied, “Young man, why would I feel like a failure? And why would I ever give up? I now know definitively over 9,000 ways that an elec tric light bulb will not work. Success is almost in my grasp.” Shortly after that, and over 10,000 attempts, Edi son invented the light bulb.
The meaning behind Edison’s immortal words ring true even now. Failure does not mean that success is not far behind. Failure simply means that there is some thing more that should be learnt or under stood before you succeed.
One thing though, is guar an teed. Life will put you down. Life will beat you up. Life will leave you standing in the pouring rain wondering what on earth went wrong and nothing will happen if you sit in one place and moan about the unfairness of life. When life beats you up, it’s up to you to decide whether you’re going to fight back and be a warrior or pity your self and be a victim.
Think a minute. What dreams and goals do you have right now? What would make you happy? Now tell me, why aren’t you doing any thing about it?? Dare to dream because one person CAN make a dif fer ence. Think of Louis Braille. He was blind and was unable to read. Did that stop him from trying to? Thanks to Louis, blind people are not excluded from the world of literature. He faced his dif ficulties and that pushed him for ward. He made a difference.
“An arrow will go for ward and hit the targetonly after it is pulled backward. A bullet will advance only when the trigger is pulled back”
Understand the wisdom that lies behind these examples.
Don’t be discouraged by failures. Don’t be afraid of difficulties.
They will push you forward.
